February Goals

Great, an entire month is over already. I’m really getting sick of this happening. What did I plan to do last month?

January Goals
1. Work on some old projects to recharge enough to edit.
I must have recharged because I actually got to editing. It’s a miracle!

2. Update my etymology page again. Remember when this didn’t used to be torture?
I did this, and as always, it made me miss old Blogger so much. It used to be so easy…

3. UGH! Jury Duty! Hopefully I won’t get picked, because that would suck. And have I mentioned the bridge that I have to take to the courthouse is partially closed?
Yay! It’s done! They haven’t paid me my twenty five bucks yet. Twenty five dollars… Yeah, that makes giving up an entire day of my time worth it.

What a month. I’m so tired. And now we have February…

February Goals
1. Finish my notes for the latest WIP. Most of said notes so far are “word it better” and “actually describe this”.

2. Start working on my editing notes. We’re at almost eight hundred one thousand twelve hundred for the final count. Hence why I said start.

3. Keep editing my web serial. Only about nine chapters left in part two…

Ugh, goals. UGH, February. What do you want to accomplish this month?

February Goals

Ugh, February is here. Garfield was right. It really is the Monday of the months. It’s cold and I’m tired all the time. February SUCKS.

Anyway, goals or whatever.

January Goals
1. Finish the first part of my web serial. Looks to be on schedule so far.
Hey, I did this, though technically the epilogue didn’t go up until the first.

2. Add another 20K to my other project.
I didn’t get quite there, but I got close.

3. Update my etymology page. Ugh, it’s that time again.
UGHHHHH. All the stupid stuff they do to Blogger and they STILL won’t fix the fact that you can’t paste things in from programs like Excel, and it’s totally impossible to change the spacing on a large list of words.

Not bad. That’s what you get when you set the bar low. Now I have to decide what I’m going to do in February.

February Goals
1. Edit the web serial, as it could use a more comprehensive looking at.

2. Work on some other projects to recharge my creativity. Not sure what, though.

3. Add about 8K to my other WIP and finish the first draft.

This is my plan. What do you want to do this month?

February Goals

Well, I think we can all agree January was somehow worse than any of us anticipated. This does not bode well for 2021. What was I even supposed to do last month? Because I guarantee you, I didn’t do it.

January Goals
1. Finish the book I started writing (or at least get close, depending on how long it ends up).
Hey, I finished it. Yay… I’m trying to be enthusiastic but my stress won’t let me.

2. Finish work on more beta notes.
Did not do this. I was way too emotionally exhausted. Kind of disappointed in myself for this one.

3. Get my query ready (gulp).
Eh, it’s still a work in progress, but at least I worked on it.

Please don’t let January come back.

February Goals
1. Do my first pass of notes on the new WIP, and start working on them.

2. Do all the adult stuff I need to that’s giving me a constant panic attack.

3. Actually get to work on my old WIP notes.

Or maybe I’ll just sleep for the entire month. What are you planning to do this February?

February Goals

January was a tough month. I felt like crap the entire time, for a variety of reasons, and had a hard time getting in any kind of creative mindset. I’d say I was glad it was gone, but February has a bunch of pain-in-the-ass problems of its own!

What was I even supposed to do this month?

January Goals
1. Write the short story I have planned, and edit one of my old ones.
I really thought I’d be able to knock this out easy, but it feels like every ounce of creativity has been drained from me. I only got about a thousand words down, maybe halfway done.

2. Keep working on my goals from last month.
I guess I did this. I spent most of my time focused on editing, so that’s something.

3. Work on daily goal planning for my writing.
This was easier. More than once I didn’t meet those goals, but I’m trying.

Okay, now let’s see what goals I’ll fail to meet this month.

February Goals
1. Do all the adult stuff I have to that gives me panic attacks.

2. Work on edits to my other WIP.

3. Keep working on the query, and hopefully get around to finishing that story.

Great, so now it’s February. And there’s even an extra day tacked on to the end of it! Like it’s not way too long as it is!

February Goals

Well, it’s February. I guess that means we can all forget about our New Years’ resolutions now. Now let’s see what I should have been working on last month…

January Goals
1. Get to 70K in my WIP.
I did this, and then some. Yay!

2. Figure out if I can start up a new spam blog.
I haven’t looked at this as much as I should have, but I haven’t had much luck. I don’t know. Maybe I should do a post about it.

3. Do all the crappy adult stuff I have to do.
Ugh, well, at least this is over and done with.

So I’d call this month mostly successful. It must be easier to write when you’re trying to avoid a soul-crushing reality. Anyway, what should I do this month?

February Goals
1. Finish the first draft of my WIP! Yes, that is worthy of an exclamation point.

2. Actually do something about a new spam blog.

3. Start planning the rewrites I want to do based on the beta reads I got.

Number three is a bit dependent on when I complete number one, if I do so at all. Not that I won’t put in the work for it. I’m just afraid it’ll end up being longer than I thought.

That’s the hopeful plan of February. What do you want to do this month?

February Goals

Well, it’s February and there haven’t been any disasters thus far. So that’s…something. Anyway, goals.

January Goals
1. Find a better way to keep track of my goals and resolutions, even if I have to staple a paper to my computer to remember.
I’ve been trying to use a sticky note. I’m just not sure if it’s actually helping me.

2. Write! Something! Anything!
I actually did this! 16K! I can’t believe it either!

3. Do all the stupid adult stuff I have to do. Ugh, I hate being an adult. Everything has to be difficult.
Uh…Kinda? I wasn’t able to get everything I needed, so I wasn’t able to finish it all. Like I said, everything has to be difficult.

And now for February, the Monday of the months…

February Goals
1. Keep up with my writing and make it to 40K on my new WIP. I actually might make it!

2. Maybe do some editing on my old WIP that I swore I’d finish last year.

3. Finish all the stuff I couldn’t get to last month. Double ugh.

So this is what I’ll be doing this month. Do you have any plans?

February Goals

It’s February. The world is marching towards oblivion. I blame Dicaprio winning that Oscar. That was when everything started going downhill.

Anyway, goals or whatever.

January Goals
1. 10K more. Keep up the pace!
10K down. It’s definitely weak in some places, though. I’d feel better about my slow output if it was better written. I don’t know, I just have to find a reason to be depressed about it.

2. Update my etymology page again. I don’t want it to get out of hand!
Yes, it’s up to date as of the 26th. Mostly because I put it off until then :P.

3. Do all the stupid adult crap I have to do. I hate being an adult.
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH this sucks. The worst part is that I screwed something up and it’s taking a while to fix and I’m super stressed out about it…

I managed to do everything. It’s more impressive when you remember that I’ve been hiding under the bed for the last two weeks in preparation of the coming apocalypse. Anyway, this month!

February Goals
1. Another 10K. I will write this or die trying.

2. Read some new books.

3. Organize all my stick figure comics. This is kind of hard to explain, but because it’s mostly copy and paste, I have tons of different images that I could reuse. If I was able to find them.

Anyway, that’s the plan. Unless a meteor comes crashing down and destroys the world. Fingers crossed!

February Goals

January has come and gone. You don’t have to worry about your New Year’s resolutions anymore. The worst of winter is behind us…hopefully. Oh hell, what if it’s waiting around the corner ready to clobber us again?

Okay, trying to calm down now. Calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean. Time to look at my goals.

January Goals
1. Finish up the project I’ve been working on. Yeah, I know I’m vague. I don’t know why. I just don’t like getting into specifics before something is complete.
You know what you’d think would be easy? Making a cross-stitch pattern. And you’d be wrong. You could devote hours to it almost every day for two months and still only be half done with all the little boxes and dozens of colors. And maybe you’d be mad by that time. Referring to yourself in the second person. Getting ready to snap at any moment. Um, anyway. Not done yet.

2. Actually do some non-work writing this month! Please!
No : (. I’m totally bummed about this. I know I was busy doing the stupid pattern that is devouring my sanity, but still.

3. Do A-to-Z Challenge posts! If I want to be able to do it this year, then it’s especially important that I get them done ahead of time.
Hey, I did this! Yay!

I put in a solid effort to anything. The only one I consider a real fail is 2, but only because I’ve been focusing so much on 1. The lesson here is to never, ever agree to make a picture for my mother.

February Goals
1. Either finish that stupid pattern or go insane trying.

2. Maybe write this time, dang it!

3. Do all the stupid miscellaneous stuff I have to do this month, like taxes and signing up for the Challenge reveal and finally learning how to spell miscellaneous. February seems to be a popular month for all the little extras.

Okay, that’s my February plan. What are you up to this month?

February Goals

There, I’m finally back to regular posting. Man, January was such a mess! Both with the two feet of snow that came piling down and also the whole lack of computer thing. That put a hamper on things. I’m also not looking forward to this month because I won’t have as much time to write as I like since I really need to start worrying about having enough money to, you know, not starve to death. It’s an issue sometimes.

Anyway, let’s get into the goals…

January Goals

1. REMEMBER: continue word edits and writing edits, and finish the freaking pacing edits.
Well, maybe I would have if my stupid computer didn’t break!!!

2. Figure out the story for the book I’m rewriting. (You’d think this would be easy, but because of all the problems it had, it’s going to need some thought)
I actually did this before the whole broken computer thing. Of course I got all the little things done before it went kerflooey. That’s how it goes.

3. Write A-to-Z Challenge posts.
Also got this one done, I think just a few days before previously mentioned kerflooey.

I’m still frustrated that I couldn’t get the most important thing done, even if it wasn’t my fault. Plus now I don’t know when I’ll have the time…

February Goals

1. Try to find enough time to do those frigging edits on REMEMBER.

2. Get caught up on everything I fell behind on without a computer.

3. Don’t starve to death. Maybe.

Ugh, February. Why you got to be like this? Why you make me hate you?

What are you up to this month? Anything fun?

February Goals

Ugh, it’s February already? Well, at least none of us have to worry about our resolutions anymore.

January Goals

1. Write a query, one sentence pitch, plot summary, and synopsis for COLLAPSE. (Just thinking about it sets my anxiety levels spiking!)
Check, check, check, and check. The synopsis could use a bit more work, but I have the rest in order. And super thanks to Dianne for reading my query for me. Your opinion was invaluable : ).

2. Work on some of my ongoing projects (pretty much everything except REMEMBER).
I spent most of the month going over COLLAPSE, and seeing as it’s a different project, I think this is a win.

3. Find a way to post my goals and progress on my blog.
I did post my goals, but I haven’t found a good way to post my progress. Of course, it’s hard to gauge them anyway. Trying to write a query isn’t like meeting a word count goal. I did however post my goals on a sticky note on my desk top, so it’s always there for me to look at. I’d say this one is a “mostly”.

Surprisingly good. I guess because it was January, I have a lot of “New Year” energy. Anyway, for this month…

February Goals
1. Finish outline, read aloud, and notes for REMEMBER. This is going to be a big one…

2. Send out 10 queries for COLLAPSE (AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!) and revise query as needed.

3. Work on Apocalypse Blog.

And as a fourth goal, try not to freak out about querying. It’s going to be tough.

What are your goals for this month? Any big plans for February?
