Websites For Writers

I was looking for a good website to profile and Michael Fox was kind enough to suggest Writer’s BBS. It’s a writer’s forums site, filled with people to talk with about books and writing.

The website may look a little sparse, but there’s a lot there. They have a place for general talk, critique posts, as well as places for Poetry and Non-fiction. They also have a Gold Forums feature if you want to restrict access to your posts.

It’s a good place to look for like-minded people. Go check it out.

And if you have any suggestions for other great sites for writers, be sure to let me know. What would happen if I ran out of sites to profile?
Anarchy. That's what.

  1. I'll have a look.

I've just gotten into Shelfari and Goodreads.

  2. Hey, awesome! Thanks for the link!

  3. The web site is actually in a transitional phase. They have a new web site programmer that is testing new ways to display things. There's a link at the top of their forums page that will take you to the new content.
    Thanks for the kudos!

  4. I doubt you'll run out of sites to profile. There's always something new.

But, as I was going about my day, I remembered It's a place where writers can sell nonfiction articles. And I had just read your post, so I figured I'd share. Just in case you hadn't heard of it before.

  5. Hi there!

As a long time member of the WritersBBS community, I can attest that it's a lively and friendly forum. As Michael mentioned, it's in a transitional stage with some updating and stream-lining happening in the forums. I find the place very useful to announce new additions to my 7(!) blogs and I enjoy a lively debate in the politics forum. There's always something controversial under discussion here. It's also a good place to post pieces in the creative stage for a critique ande comment and most of the members as a rule, are kind.

Hope I'll see some new friends drop by! Y'all come - hear?

  6. I've been a member well over ten years, They have been a source of encouragement and inspiration, answered my many questions. They were there Snoopy Dancing when my first book was published. I've even met many members in person and made some close friends.

  7. is a new one on the scene and worth checking out. Even though I became employed there,I'm not biased when I say it holds a wealth of knowledge, whether it's from one of their paid services or free info on the forums.

  8. I was surprised, just now, to find that has created a 'virtual studio' for writers of all types, even Flash Fiction. Add that to your list!

  9. Thanks for sharing the information.
