November Goals

Well, today’s it. If not now, then sometime in the next few days we’ll learn which party will win, the wishy-washy morons who can’t get anything done, or the ones who actually want me dead. Yes, I’m hoping for the morons who are actually held accountable for their misdeeds and aren’t actively hurting people.

Whatever. Goals.

October Goals
1. I’d like to get another 30K down in my new project.
Yes, I did this. I’d be more excited if I wasn’t terrified of death.

2. Hopefully find some time to edit an old project.
Did not have time for this. Too busy. Worrying takes up a lot of time.

3. Actually get back to editing my last WIP.  Not sure I’ll have time though.
Wanted to, but I wanted to distract myself from the horror more. You know how it is.

Not particularly successful. It’s been a tough month.

November Goals
1. Get to editing my old WIP. Seriously this time.

2. Find some time to write something. I guess.

3. Thanksgiving. Maybe it’ll be fun this year. But probably not.

Kind of sucks that conservatives are so awful to others. I wish people were nicer, but fat chance of them actually caring about those who don’t fit their mold.

November Goals

Well, it’s November somehow. I’m not pleased with this. Only two months left of the year! What the hell?

What did I plan to do last month?

October Goals
1. Keep editing the WIP and posting the chapters.
Well, this one was easy enough, and thankfully I did it.

2. Ugh, time to update the etymology page again.
UGH. This is such a chore, but I did it.

3. Get to work on the new WIP idea I have. Definitely excited about this.
I already made it to 32K, so about a third of the way through. Yay!

Successful, I guess. I still can’t believe it’s November, though. What should I do this month?

November Goals
1. Get to 60K on my WIP.

2. Continue editing and posting my other WIP.

3. Thanksgiving (dread)

The holiday season is upon us. Unfortunately. What do you want to do this month?

November Goals

Man, I have to do this again already? And it’s November??? This isn’t right.

October Goals
1. Finish!!!!!
Yay, I did this! Success in something! It’s a miracle!

2. Seriously actually get to the beta notes this time, even if I don’t know what I’m going to do with this project.
I finally had the time to do this. As I said, all I needed was free time, and shockingly, I was correct about my own assessment of my life. Funny how that works.

3. Crud, it’s time to update my etymology page, isn’t it? This is always such an ordeal.
And it was an ordeal this time, too. I just want to adjust the spacing between the words! I want to be able to paste things from Excel again! I hate you, New Blogger! I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!

I remember the days when updating my etymology page was an easy item to check off. I really wish we could go back to the previous version of Blogger, but alas, it is out of reach.

It was kind of a meh month to be honest. I feel like I didn’t sleep through the entirety of October. And now it’s November!

November Goals
1. Figure out something to work on next.

2. Work on making more blogging connections for my web serial. Not that I know how...

3. Thanksgiving. At least this one is easy. Well, it’s its own brand of hell, but it’s going to happen regardless of what I do.

November Goals

Frigging hell. What can I even say about this month? It was such a nightmare and I’m betting this month is going to be even worse, for obvious reasons.

I don’t even remember what I was supposed to be working on last month.

October Goals
1. Find some beta readers for my latest WIP. I hope some of my friends are still available.
Yeah, I did this. It’s already been really helpful. Thanks!

2. Update my blog’s etymology page. I really should have done this last month!
I did this, although the new posting format made it really difficult. I used to be able to paste it in from Excel and it had nice, even spacing between the words. Now that no longer works, and I can’t get rid of the double spacing in the word list. So yeah. That’s a thing.

3. Work on something. Anything.
This grew increasingly difficult as the month went on. Shocking.

I don’t know if I’d call this a success, if only because nothing about October seems successful.

November Goals
1. Keep working on notes from my beta readers.

2. Thanksgiving. Though with the pandemic, this should be nice and subdued.

3. Just get through the month.

What are you up to this month?

November Goals

It’s November! What am I going to do this month? Well, first I need to see what I was supposed to do last month…

October Goals
1. Work on notes and edit WIP-1. I have some rewrites to do, and reorganizing, then I need to get more people to read it. Hint hint.
I did all this! Then I got more notes that made me realize I needed to change a bunch more stuff! Which I didn’t do! It’s never ending.

2. Start an editing plan for WIP-2 and possibly start editing that, depending on how much free time I have.
I did do this, although of course I’m berating myself for not doing MORE.

3. Start writing things like query letters, taglines, and synopses for WIP-1. I can’t believe it’s finally come to this.
I did this as well. Of course, they’re terrible because these are just the worst things ever. I’ll probably need people to give me notes on these as well. Ugh.

It’s not bad, I just wish I hadn’t run out of steam towards the end of the month. I’d open my WIP and just stare at it because I had no energy to work on it, which is a total bummer. I hate it when I go through these low periods.

Anyway, November…

November Goals
1. Finish the rewrites and reorganizing for WIP-1, then hopefully get it out to more beta readers.

2. Edit the synopsis and et al. and get some help looking at that, too.

3. Thanksgiving! So I’ll have to deal with that, too. Hopefully it will provide me with a much needed recharge and not total dread.

Let’s see what the month will hold. What do you guys have planned?

November Goals

Less than two months left in the year. How did this happen? What was I even supposed to do last month?

October Goals
1. Start with the beta reads. And as a corollary, don’t have a panic attack from the beta reads.
I actually didn’t do this because everyone I knew was busy or vanished somewhere into the aether of the internet. The blog-o-sphere isn’t as active as it used to be.

2. Figure out if I’m ready to start a new WIP.
Considering I started it, the answer would have to be yes.

3. Try to distract myself from the beta reading/imminent doom.
Kind of unnecessary.

Seriously, the beta thing was such a bust. There are like three people who owe me reads who are just plain gone. Plus the last time I did this, there was still a lot of those blog events people hosted where you could find a bunch of like-minded people to exchange stories with. I can’t even remember the last time I’ve seen one of those.

The above is kind of feeling like a big old pile of excuses, so let’s just move on to next month:

November Goals
1. Keep searching for beta readers.

2. Get up to 40K on my new WIP (already at about 18K, so this is certainly possible).

3. <shudder> Thanksgiving.

So that’s what I want to do this month. What are you up to? Want to do some beta reading (you can email me here)?

November Goals

Ooh, this is going to be a bad one, I can tell. October was a tough month. It seemed like there was constantly something going on, I wasn’t sleeping well and tired all the time, and, oh yeah, it finished off with a power outage that meant I couldn’t use my electronics. Because it’s not like I need those!

It was a frustrating month and I’m glad to see it gone.

October Goals
1. Write in my WIP! Please actually finish it this time!
I’m sad/frustrated to say that I didn’t work on it at all. I couldn’t figure out anything I wanted to write so rather than push it, I ignored it for a month in hopes that I would feel better about it later. I guess that’s kind of true.

2. Halloween spooky stuff, yay!
At least I did this!

3. Rake the pine needles. Yes, it’s that time of year again.
Okay, I did it, but I’ve only barely started. But this one’s not my fault. The first have of the month was so warm that the pine needles weren’t dropping, which means I can’t exactly rake them. So I’m going to have to finish this one this month, too.

Man, October sucked.

November Goals
1. Sigh. Write in the book. Let’s see how badly I’ll fail it this month.

2. Thanksgiving. Ugh, did anyone feel a foreboding chill just now?

3. Go through some old projects and notes and see if anything’s worth salvaging.

What are you up to this month? Are you hoping it’s better than October, too?

November Goals

Sigh…Halloween is over. Well, I remembered on time this month, so that’s something. Let’s see how I did…

October Goals
1. Update my etymology list so I don’t ignore it for a year and then have a huge amount to put in.
Hey, I did this! It’s much easier when I don’t leave it for an entire year.

2. Find some time to write! It’s going to be a busy month…
I didn’t find as much time as I would like, but I did think up a new story idea that I just love, so that’s pretty awesome.

3. HALLOWEEN!
I had lots of Halloween fun, so this is definitely checked off : ).

Did pretty good this month. I feel accomplished. Don’t worry. I’m sure it won’t last long.

November Goals
1. Write 10,000 words for new story idea. I don’t know if I’ll get there, but I want to aim high. So when I inevitably fail I can wallow in that much more misery.

2. Do a bunch of boring adult crap like raking the pine needles and stuff. I hate being an adult.

3. Oh god. Thanksgiving is this month. Please, no. Not that. Anything but that.

This month is going to be very, very busy. I’m not looking forward to it. Maybe I’ll get lucky and fall into a coma and not wake up until 2017. Anyway, what are you up to this month?

November Goals

Wow, is it November already? Of course, I think I’ve been saying that every month since January. It just really feels like time is flying by. Anyway, let’s see what I was supposed to be up to last month…

October Goals
1. Celebrate Halloween as much as humanly possible. I figure with eight hours reserved to sleep each night, I can get a lot of fun in.
I think we can all agree that this was a total success.

2. Tackle some of the books on my TBR list. I know that I don’t usually make reading a goal, but that list is getting ridiculous.
Not nearly enough, but yeah, I did get some of them off : ).

3. I don’t know…WRITE SOMETHING. It would be nice!
Even more not nearly enough! I miss having free time to write…

So I did okay, mostly because I set goals that I knew it was possible for me to reach. It’s important to strive to exceed expectations, but it’s also important not to set yourself up to fail.

Now, for this month.

November Goals
1. Keep writing! I’ve been so busy doing other stuff that it’s important that I don’t give up.

2. Work on my special secret project. Can’t tell you more about this one yet…

3. Prepare for the nightmare known as Thanksgiving. <shudder>

These are my November plans. What are you guys up to this month?

November Goals

September was a total nightmare. October wasn’t, so was I able to get anything done?

Ha ha. No.

October Goals

1. Work on, and preferably finish, REMEMBER notes. For real. Seriously.
I swear I fully intended to do this. I just wanted to finish my other project first (the one listed right beneath this one). You know when I finished that project? October 31st. I’m so sorry, REMEMBER.

2. Finish my non-writing side project (I don’t usually put these on the list, but I might actually be able to do this one).
I have no idea why this took so freaking long. I thought I’d be done the first week of October. Then the second. Then the third. Every single day, I swore I’d be done “tomorrow”. Every day I realized there was still more to do. I’m not saying I’m great at estimating how long it takes to do something, but I’ve never been this badly off. This was such a huge time eater. But it’s done, and I’ll never have to do it again.

3. More stick figure comics! You guys are weirdly easy to please.
At least I did this one…

All right, here we go. Maybe I’ll get something important done this month…

November Goals

1. Do the frigging REMEMBER notes, dang it. The italics mean I’m serious.

2. If I finish the notes, then I can get back to work on my other WIP. I should also make notes of the other idea that’s rolling around in my head before I forget it.

3. Maybe try to get another apocalypse post up. Remember those?

Okay, so let’s see if I can actually do something this month. Fingers crossed. So what are you going to be up to? And if you’re doing NaNo, I assume I won’t be seeing you until December 1st : ).

November Goals

Oh, god, it’s November and I got nothing done. October was the WORST. I was hardly able to write at all because I was so busy with stuff. First there was construction going on outside, then it got cold but the frigging heater wasn’t frigging working (frig!), plus, as anyone who follows me on Twitter has heard non-stop about, I hurt my neck at the beginning of the month (no idea how) and it’s only just now started to not kill me every day. Concentrating on writing is made extra hard when you have to keep taking breaks to lie on the floor because your neck can’t hold up your head.

Okay, enough complaining. Let’s see how I actually did (shudder)…

October Goals
1. Finish Horror Project A, also known as Enduring Eternity. Maybe I’ll share it with you guys.
Yes, it’s fully finished, although it mostly was anyway. As for the sharing, maybe Saturday?

2. Get 30K words down, preferably more in the paranormal apocalyptic than my other horror project.
Nope. Not even close. The above problems really grinded this one to a halt. At this rate, I’m never going to get those projects done!

3. Keep updating my etymology page. Remember all the trouble I had with that? Oh, man, this is not going to be fun.
Ha, I actually did this at the beginning of the month. If you look up, you’ll see the new pages I have for easily confused words and other etymology things. Because they’re not nearly as long as the Language of Confusion page, it ended up being a lot easier than I expected.

So I got the easy ones done. I hope I actually have a chance to write this month and oh, no, it’s November, which means Thanksgiving is going to eat up my time in a few weeks, great.

November Goals

1. 20K in my paranormal apocalyptic story! This is the more important project, so I really want to focus on it. I think some of the reason I’ve been having trouble is because I’ve been working on multiple things. It’s time to stop doing that.

2. Be more active on social media. Of course, since everyone is off doing NaNo, it’s not like anyone will be around to notice.

3. Learn more about computer coding. Yes, really.

Okay, so that’s what I’m up to this month. What about you?
