In your area, probably not. But I am very familiar with that sound. And it comes through loud and clear no matter what.
Yeah, there is no silent mode for that stuff.

The only times I've heard that emergency alert sound is when the government is making some huge COVID announcement - like another lockdown.
Oh wow. We only get annoying buzzes for Amber Alerts. And everyone's phone goes off. Anyway, better a warning than it hitting you unawares. And better just a warning and not an actual tornado.
