I Maintain That It Wasn’t My Fault

Another almost true story.

I’m all for reusing containers, but for the love of god, mark them because mashed potatoes really look like cookie dough ice cream and then you’re in for a world of disappointment. Ugh.

  1. That would be disappointing. We recently found a couple unmarked containers in the freezer and my wife nuked them just to see what they were. (Hot and sour soup, so I wasn't disappointed.)

  2. "Hmmmm, cookie dough tastes kind of weird. Like Thanksgiving dinner."

  3. Um, if your mashed potatoes look like cookie dough, something is wrong with the potatoes.

  4. I'm using old ice cream containers for storage, too. I've tried to get the label off...

  5. LMAO. I think this happened at the day job once with the dishwasher.

  6. Who puts mashed potatoes in an ice cream container without labeling it?

  7. I have so many stories like this from my grandma's fridge for my entire life. She doesn't label anything, either.

  8. I'm not sure I would mind eating leftover mashed potatoes (in fact, I know I wouldn't, since I ate some tonight), but mistaking them for ice cream might be awkward.

Who am I kidding. I would be thrilled. I love salty over sweet. MASHED POTATOES FOREVER!!!!

  9. LOL. I reuse containers too. Mashed potatoes make me gag. I never, ever, never, ever, ever put them anywhere near my mouth. My kids all like them so I make them once a year for Thanksgiving because I love my children.
