October Goals

Okay, somehow it’s October, don’t know how that happened. Ha ha, a month left until the election, I’m fine, I’m totally fine, we’re not all going to die if it goes the wrong way or anything.

I can’t remember what I was supposed to be doing last month.

September Goals
1. Find something new to write that actually interests me.
At long last, I found something that I really want to write! Yay!

2. Edit something old to post on my other site. Luckily I have tons of options.
Getting around to it. I’m pretty sure I know what I’m going to go for.

3. Try to read some more. Maybe this will help me recharge.
Definitely didn’t do this as much as I’d like. I wish I had a few more hours in the day.

And now for October…

October Goals
1. I’d like to get another 30K down in my new project. Of course now my laptop has decided to randomly not type the R Y U I O and P letters. You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to get that sentence out. Ha ha this is giving me an aneurysm.

2. Hopefully find some time to edit an old project.

3. Actually get back to editing my last WIP.  Not sure I’ll have time though.

That’s the plan. What do you want to do? Are you glad the weather is changing?

October Goals

What the hell? How did it get to be October? That’s not supposed to happen. Somebody needs to fix this.

As usual, I don’t remember what I planned for last month…

September Goals
1. Continue editing the book and promoting the web serial. I am so bad at this.
The editing’s still going on. Marketing is a dumpster fire. I don’t even know what it is. It sounds fake.

2. Work on something pointless that lets me recharge creatively.
At least this was easy enough.

3. Figure out what I want to work on next.
And I did this! Yay! I have an idea and everything!

Like I said last month, aim low. As I plan to this month.

October Goals
1. Keep editing the WIP and posting the chapters.

2. Ugh, time to update the etymology page again.

3. Get to work on the new WIP idea I have. Definitely excited about this.

Will I succeed? I aim so low, it would be astonishing if I didn’t. What do you want to do this month? Excited about Halloween?

October Goals

Somehow it’s October already, and I’m pretty sure I didn’t get anything done I was supposed to. It’s not even winter yet and I already feel like I’m hibernating.

September Goals
1. Keep writing my new project to what I think will end up being the end of the first part.
I didn’t get to the end, as it was slower going than I hoped. I only have about a chapter and a half left, though, so fingers crossed.

2. Figure out how to engage more readers. Ugh, I am so very, very bad at this.
Very minor progress. Almost invisible. But I am working on it.

3. Actually get to the beta notes and edits. I fear I won’t, but I won’t let myself forget about it.
PBBBBBBBBBHHHHHHHHHHTTTTTT no.

Ugh, maybe I’d have more energy to do this stuff if I wasn’t so tired all the time. Anyway, now for this month…

October Goals
1. Finish!!!!!

2. Seriously actually get to the beta notes this time, even if I don’t know what I’m going to do with this project.

3. Crud, it’s time to update my etymology page, isn’t it? This is always such an ordeal.

I remember the days when updating my etymology page was an easy item to check off. I really wish we could go back to the previous version of Blogger, but alas, it is out of reach.

What do you want to do this month?

October Goals

Oh wow, October already. This year is going by way too fast. Wasn’t it March yesterday? It feels like it was. I don’t even remember what I was supposed to be working on last month, so you can assume I probably didn’t do it.

September Goals
1. Get WIP 1 beta ready. I’m really trying to get this on in good shape. If anyone can take a look at it, let me know.
I didn’t do much work on it and honestly, there’s a lot more I could do on it (I’m terrible at descriptions). I suppose it’s beta ready because I don’t know what I need to work on next.

2. Get drafts done of the synopsis and query for WIP 1.
Wait, this was a goal? I actually did this, holy crap.

3. Get to the notes on WIP 2 if I have the time.
And somehow I did this, too. I still have about a third of the book left to go over, but it is getting done. It’s a miracle.

And now for this month.

October Goals
1. Beta reads for WIP 1. Any volunteers?

2. Finish working on my notes for WIP 2. This one’s actually possible.

3. Update my etymology page. There are so many of them, I think it’s time to create a few separate pages up in the header there. It might make formatting them easier, too.

That’s what I want to do this month. Will any of this actually happen? Who knows? What do you want to do this month?

October Goals

It’s October! While I usually love this month, well, it is 2020. Although I suppose I am living each day in growing terror as the election nears. That’s not really a fun terror, though.

Ugh, let’s focus on something less awful.

September Goals
1. Work on word usage. I overuse an embarrassing amount of words and phrases.
There are still a bunch left, but at least I did something.

2. Get WIP beta reader ready.
It’s pretty there. Probably as close as it’s going to get, anyway.

3. Look back on the last ten years because holy crap, that’s how long I’ve been blogging.
If it was any year but 2020, this probably would have been a lot more interesting to do.

And that’s that. I did a lot of what I set out to do, but could have done better. It was kind of a tiring month to exist in. So what should I do this month…

October Goals
1. Find some beta readers for my latest WIP. I hope some of my friends are still available.

2. Update my blog’s etymology page. I really should have done this last month!

3. Work on something. Anything.

Here’s hoping October is successful and not a nightmare reaching its pinnacle. What do you want to do this month?

October Goals

It’s the first day of October! Time to see how I did with my goals last month.

September Goals
1. Well,  now that I’ve started, I might as well finish WIP-2.
As anyone who follows me on Twitter knows, I did it! WHOOO!

2. Maybe actually get around to editing those old stories this time.
Nope. I was too busy editing WIP-1. So it’s kind of a win, just not the one I intended.

3. I should also update my etymology page. I don’t even have the case words up yet.
Yes, got this all taken care of.

So I did pretty good this month. I mean, I will get to those stories eventually. But the longer works take priority.

Anyway, new goals.

October Goals
1. Work on notes and edit WIP-1. I have some rewrites to do, and reorganizing, then I need to get more people to read it. Hint hint.

2. Start an editing plan for WIP-2 and possibly start editing that, depending on how much free time I have.

3. Start writing things like query letters, taglines, and synopses for WIP-1. I can’t believe it’s finally come to this.

So that’s what I want to do this month. What are you up to?

October Goals

It’s Halloween month! That almost makes up for all the horrible things happening in the world right now. Well, maybe almost is too strong a work. A very tiny bit. It cushions the blow. Is it possible to be stabbed softly? That.

All right, what was I supposed to be doing?

September Goals
1. Prepare my WIP (and myself) for beta reads. I cannot believe this is happening.
It’s as ready as it’s going to get…

2. Work on the notes for my new idea.
Yep, I did do this. I think there’s a bit more work to do before I can begin writing it though. I want to make sure I know how it goes from beginning to middle to end.

3. Update my etymology page. It’s been at least three months since the last one.
It’s up to date as to a few weeks ago. I know you were all worried.

And now for what I should be doing now…

October Goals
1. Start with the beta reads. And as a corollary, don’t have a panic attack from the beta reads.

2. Figure out if I’m ready to start a new WIP.

3. Try to distract myself from the beta reading/imminent doom.

So hopefully, that’s what I’ll be doing this month. What about you? What do you want to do this month?

October Goals

Wow, it’s October already, and I got like nothing done. Ugh, sometimes these goals posts are so depressing.

September Goals
1. Again, finish the book. It could actually happen this time!
Except it didn’t. I hardly worked on it at all. Part of me feels bad about it, but the other part is too exhausted to care.

2. Update the etymology page again. I always forget this and then I have a million words to do and it’s a pain.
At least I did this.

3. Make some new cross stitch patterns. Shut up! I like it! Don’t you judge me!
And this.

Not good considering that I didn’t do the most important thing. I don’t know why it’s getting so hard to just finish it. Sigh…

Anyway, this month.

October Goals
1. Write in my WIP! Please actually finish it this time!

2. Halloween spooky stuff, yay!

3. Rake the pine needles. Yes, it’s that time of year again.

Stupid pine needles. Although I might not have to rake them until the end of the month considering how hot it’s been lately. So what are you up to this month? Anything fun?

October Goals

You might be noticing that this is going up a week late. That’s because in my excitement over it being Halloween month, I completely forgot to do my goals post. No exaggeration. I didn’t realize until last Tuesday, well after my scheduled post went up.

Oh well! I guess the scary thing for today will be that I’m getting old and forgetful.

September Goals
1. Get back into the grind. Ugh.
UGHHHHHHHHHH.

2. Look through some of my old stories and see if they need any work done.
Hey, I did this. And found out that one of my stories that I really liked was gone. So that kind of sucked.

3. Try to come up with a brand new idea for a story. It’s been a while…
This one I completely failed. I just didn’t have any inspiration! I’ve had a couple ideas for old works, though, so that’s a minor victory.

Kind of a meh month. I’m still really disappointed about that story missing!

October Goals
1. Update my etymology list so I don’t ignore it for a year and then have a huge amount to put in.

2. Find some time to write! It’s going to be a busy month…

3. HALLOWEEN!

So that’s the plan. It’s going to be a fairly busy month, so hopefully I’ll be able to find time to write. And what are you up to this month? Anything fun or interesting?

October Goals

Whoo! October! I know Halloween is only one day, but really I consider it to be the whole month. And I intend to celebrate every second of it. Loudly.

Anyway, let’s see what I was supposed to do last month…

September Goals
1. Make food money. ‘Cause, you know. Eating and stuff.
Well, I’m still alive. Broke, but alive…

2. Don’t let life sucker punch again.
It didn’t sucker punch me, but a few blows definitely landed…

3. Maybe, just maybe, get to write.
Not nearly enough!

I didn’t really make last month’s goals failable, mostly because I really didn’t want another failure. But I did everything that I had to do and that’s as much of a win as I can get. On to this month…

October Goals
1. Celebrate Halloween as much as humanly possible. I figure with eight hours reserved to sleep each night, I can get a lot of fun in.

2. Tackle some of the books on my TBR list. I know that I don’t usually make reading a goal, but that list is getting ridiculous.

3. I don’t know…WRITE SOMETHING. It would be nice!

So that’s the plan for October. What are you up to this month?

October Goals

Ugh, September. UGH!!! It started out bad and only managed to get worse from there. One of my cats got out of the house and never came back, and honestly I’ve been devastated about that. Then I got sick—me!—and that included double ear infections (you saw the comic) which made me feel like I constantly had cotton in my ears. You know what I do when I’m writing? Listen to music/television. You know what’s really hard to do with ear infections? Exactly that.

September Goals

1. Work on REMEMBER notes. I’d really prefer getting them all done, but…it’s not going to happen and no amount of goading myself will help, so I might as well be realistic and promise myself to do something.
Nope. Not a bit, which I’m disappointed in, but I was also depressed and unable to concentrate, so I should probably cut myself a little slack there…

2. Add 10K to the new WIP. Only ten because I really want to make some headway on those notes, and I figure it will be better not to over commit.
See above.

3. Work on making the stick figure comics a regular part of the blog. Honestly, I’m surprised how many people seem to enjoy them. I probably won’t be able to think of something funny every week, but maybe every other.
At least I managed to do this one…

This month’s goals are going to be modest…I just hope I do them this time…

October Goals

1. Work on, and preferably finish, REMEMBER notes. For real. Seriously.

2. Finish my non-writing side project (I don’t usually put these on the list, but I might actually be able to do this one).

3. More stick figure comics! You guys are weirdly easy to please.

All right, that’s it. Was your September a month of unending horror somehow still going on despite being over or did something good actually happen? What are your plans for October?

October Goals

Well, October 1 was the first Tuesday of the month, which means it’s time to post my goals. Which is good, because I didn’t feel like coming up with a post anyway : P. And first, let’s see how I did for September…

September Goals

1. Work on being more social online. It’s hard for me, but I want to be more active on the sites I’ve joined and get myself more out there. Ugh, I’m not looking forward to this.
Not bad? Not exactly a win, but not a loss, either. I’m still on my Tumblr, Twitter, and obviously, my blog, so yay?

2. Add 30K to my new project. I better do it, too!
Okay, this one is more no than yes. I think if you add it up, it was 30K, but it was split between this one and my other one, which was goal number three.

3. Actually add something to the horror side project this time. I also have a few more horror ideas I want to expand (they’re just fragments right now; I’d like some actual thoughts on what to do with them).
Like I said, I worked on my horror side project, and I did pretty well on it, too. This is a total win, although I probably should have focused more on my paranormal apocalyptic.

Not bad, considering it was also a busy month outside of writing. Now for October…

October Goals

1. Finish Horror Project A, also known as Enduring Eternity. Maybe I’ll share it with you guys.

2. Get 30K words down, preferably more in the paranormal apocalyptic than my other horror project.

3. Keep updating my etymology page. Remember all the trouble I had with that? Oh, man, this is not going to be fun.

So that’s it. What are your plans for this month?
