April Goals

Okay, now it’s April??? The year is a quarter done?????? That’s just wrong.

March Goals
1. Finish my editing for the new book. I think I’m down to eight hundred notes left. Eep.
I should be done by the time this posts. Fingers crossed.

2. Get the last chapters of the web serial ready to post.
Also very close to being done. Just the epilogue left now.

3. Work on something fun that isn’t editing. I definitely need it.
Wouldn’t you know, this is the one I didn’t have time to do.

Would have been nice to have some free time, but those notes were eternal. I added something like six thousand words of description, so yay?

April Goals
1. Actually take some time to rest and creatively recharge.

2. Update the etymology page. Ugh.

3. Figure out what I want to work on next. Something old? Something new?

April Goals

Oh frig. March is done already? But it sucked!!!

March Goals
1. Actually edit the web serial this time.
Hey, I actually started this! It’s a miracle.

2. Hopefully find some way to recharge. And maybe sleep!
Failed this one. I’m so tired. I’ve heard people say they wake up in the mornings no longer feeling tired but I think that might be a lie.

3. Keep searching for a way to get rid of those m*****f*****g rounded window corners in everything I try to use on my computer. Don’t get Windows 11. Stick with 10.
This one’s not my fault, but the fault of Microsoft, who created an operating system designed to inflict torture on people. One of the updates for it literally broke my computer. I had to roll it back, and now it keeps bugging me to download the computer-breaking update. I miss 10 so much. I took it for granted. It was the least awful of all operating systems.

So that was March. It was the worst. I doubt April’s going to be any better.

April Goals
1. Finish the web serial edits. Not sure I’ll be able to get there, but I should be able to get close.

2. Update my etymology page. You know what a treat this always is. Stupid Google.

3. Find some way to get my work out there more. Not that I have any idea how to do this…

Ugh, March. Ugh, April.

What do you want to do this month?

April Goals

Ugh, this again. Let’s see what I didn’t do last month.

March Goals
1. Get some feedback on my new WIP. It’s a contemporary mystery about the murder of a girl. It’s character driven and very different from what I usually write, so if anyone anywhere would like to look at it and give me some guidance, I’d really appreciate it.
Hey, I did this! Of course, this was less dependent on me than on who I could sucker into ask to help me with this.

2. Try to edit the WIP I keep avoiding. I might ignore it, but I can’t let myself forget it.
This would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

3. Keep working on my latest new project. This one should be easy, I hope.
I did finish the short story I was working on. And immediately decided to work on a new book because of course I did.

Meh. I guess I did most of what I wanted. It just doesn’t feel that way. And now…

April Goals
1. Keep searching for beta readers for my book. It’s almost like people have lives outside of me or something.

2. Work on writing the new WIP I’ve decided I have to write right now this very moment.

3. Update my etymology page, even though after a year I still can’t get the damn formatting right. Seriously, I HATE new Blogger.

What are you up to this month? Anyone able to beta read? Do you know how to get rid of the damn double space between lists of words? And DO NOT say hold down shift when you hit enter, that doesn’t work when you have thousands of words.

April Goals

Well, March 2021 definitely gave March 2020 a run for its money. Ugh. I can’t even remember what I was supposed to be doing this month.

March Goals
1. Actually work on those damn notes!
Ha ha, no. This was not a successful month in a lot of ways.

2. Work on some non-writing projects to try and recharge my creativity.
I did do this, although my creativity and desire to write still seem to be at a nadir.

3. Work on some new ideas I have floating around.
I did this, too, although I’m not sure when I’m going to actually work on them.

Goodbye, March, and get the hell out, no one wants you here. Now for April…

April Goals
1. Work on one of my project ideas. I have so many, it shouldn’t be this hard.

2. Update my etymology page. It’s been months!

3. Actually work on those notes! I think we can all guess how this is going to go.

Fingers crossed I can actually get something done this month. What about you? What do you want to do for April?

April Goals

Ugh, this month… I saw a post online that describes it well. Someone was saying they lived in six decades, the 80s, the 90s, the 00s, the 10s, the 20s, and March. And, yeah, that feels 100% accurate. Things got pretty horrible throughout the entire world, so forgive me if I’m not super stoked for April.

March Goals
1. Get the query to 100% shape. No idea how I’ll do this, though.
It’s definitely not in 100% shape, but I did work on it a little. You know, before the dread of everyone I’ve ever known dying took over.

2. Work on substantial edits for my other WIP.
I did do this, getting pretty well through them. There’s still a bit left, but it’s actually approaching a state where I’d allow other people to look at it.

3. If I have time, get back to edits on the sequel to first WIP.
I did some of these, too, although I didn’t finish them, and I really feel like I should have. But, you know. Horrible anxiety from pandemic. Kind of makes it hard to focus.

I do wish I got more done, but ugh, this month. This awful, horrible month. I’m really not looking forward to April.

April Goals
1. Finish edits for the other WIP so it’s at the point where it’s ready for beta readers.

2. Finally finish working on the notes I made for WIP’s sequel.

3. Find a way not to be overwhelmed.

That’s the plan, anyway. Who knows if it’ll be successful. What are you doing this month? I hope you’re all  staying safe out there.

April Goals

It’s that time again. I’m not sure if March went by really fast or if I was just really, really slow.

March Goals
1. Finish the rewrites.
Hey, I did this. Now I have a bunch more stuff to edit. :/

2. Start working on all the other notes I was given by my beta readers. Hopefully I won’t be panicking too much to do this.
I only got about halfway through this. There were a lot of corrections to make. My friends probably now think I don’t know how to write. They’re not wrong.

3. Update etymology page. It’s that time again.
At least I got this done. Not like it’s difficult!

Honestly, I did as much as I was able to. Mostly. There may have been one or two days where I blew everything off. So what about this month?

April Goals
1. Finish the notes from my beta readers.

2. Work on all the notes that I’ve made because of suggestions from my beta readers.

3. If I’m able to finish the first two notes, then I can start editing the short story I wrote last year.

That’s the plan, at any rate. Hopefully there won’t be anything huge that gets in my way.

Oh god, I jinxed myself, didn’t I?

What are you going to do this month?

April Goals

Ugh, this month is going to be busy, isn’t it? Expect posts to get a lot more succinct. Like this.

March Goals
1. Actually write 10K this time. Or, at the very least, finish last month’s 10K.
I did finish the 10K from the last one, but because I got so busy with other stuff I didn’t press it any further.

2. See if I can by that book I want to read for research. And, you know, read it.
Did not get to this, unfortunately. I don’t know when I’m ever going to get time to read again.

3. Try to think up something fun to do. Because we could all use a little fun right now.
…More like the opposite of this.

Okay, this month.

April Goals
1. Get at least 5000 words done. I know that’s not a lot, but I’m so busy!

2. Get to work on my side-blog project. I’m going to need to work super hard to get all this done. Thankfully this might be doable since I have some awesome people helping me.

3. Update my etymology page. I don’t want to put it off too long!

What are you up to this month?

April Goals

What’s this? My April Goals…in March? What insanity is this?

Well, it’s because the A-to-Z Challenge starts on Friday and the first Tuesday in April, which is normally reserved for my goals’ post, is an etymology post starting with the letter E. I mean, sure, I could double post, but then I would have to think up another post for here, wouldn’t I?

Okay, let’s see how I did last month. Which is this month.

March Goals
1. Finish the pattern (again! Like I never work on it!). All work and no play make Jack a dull boy.
I…actually did it. Honest and truly. I even printed it out. It’s done and I…I’m getting a little overcome with emotion right now. Onto the next.

2. Write! Please this time!
No : (, at least nothing that was FUN to write. Sigh…

3. Get all my Challenge posts set up so they’re ready to post. Hey, I might actually be able to do this one!
Yes, I did it! As you will see starting Friday.

Not bad! I feel like I actually accomplished something this month. So onto April…

April Goals
1. The Challenge! Visit at least five new blogs every day. At least finding new ones won’t be a problem!

2. The pattern is done, so do some actual writing this time, dammit!

3. Spring Cleaning. Yeah, I’m making this a goal. Might as well have an easy one :P.

So that’s my plan for April. What about you? Anything interesting going on?

April Goals

April Fools isn’t until tomorrow, but that’s when the Challenge starts so I have to do something crazy and post early.

Well, at least it wasn’t as bad as February. But it was close.

March Goals
1. Find enough time to do some writing/editing! Please, pretty please. Maybe I’ll win the lottery and then not have to worry about money anymore.
Barely. In all, I’d call this a failure, because I really didn’t get to do as much as I wanted. It’s just that my only free time is at the end of the day and I’m always so tired…sigh…

2. All the snow has caused some water damage, so I will be spending some time trying to mitigate that. Man, how I wish I didn’t have to make this a goal. Didn’t this blog used to be about writing?
F*****g snow. It actually started to melt at the end of the month, and the ice dams in the gutters finally disappeared. But there is just so much damage. Okay, not tons, but still more than I can handle…

3. Get all my A-to-Z Challenge posts ready for posting! They’re all written, so it’s just setting them up. I’m actually kind of excited for this one.
At least the recap doesn’t have to end on a sour note. I did this, and my posts are all ready, and I’m really happy about it.

Oh, April. Please don’t be another February. Or March for that matter.

April Goals
1. Write a short story. I actually have an idea for one. Not sure what will happen with it, but it’ writing.

2. Figure out how to fix all the damage. Again, I hate having to make this a goal, but I have a feeling it’s going to be occupying my thoughts a lot this month…

3. A-to-Z Challenge! Yay! My posts are all ready, but I have to be sure to visit new blogs every day, as well as all my usuals. Expect a lot of late comments from me.

Okay, so that’s my plan for April. Please, just don’t let there be any surprises. What are you up to this month? Ready for spring/fall?

April Goals

Yes, I’m really doing this before the end of the month :P, and on what should be Etymology Thursday to boot. Since I’m taking part in the A-to-Z challenge, I figured it was better to do it now than to double post. So here we go.

I thought February was bad, but this month was just uuuuugh. Nothing went right. For some reason, I felt more anxious than usual, so it was really hard for me to concentrate on all the things I was supposed to be doing. It didn’t help things that last month’s queries for COLLAPSE received zero interest. It was kind of a bummer.

March Goals
1. Send out 10 more queries for COLLAPSE (still AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!).
Did not do this, although that was because with all the rejections I got, I thought it was best to rework my query. It’s frustrating because I’m still not sure about it.

2. Write two more Apocalypse posts for (I hope) your entertainment.
I did this. At least I got something right.

3. Actually finish REMEMBER. And maybe, if I do, write the book that’s been rolling around in my head the past couple of weeks!
REMEMBER is still sketchy. I want to put it on hold for now, what with YA being oversaturated. It’s kind of a bummer, but the other book I’m working on, MALICE, is adult, so it might have a better chance. Plus I’m 30K into it and I’m really having fun.

March was a great big failure, except for the new book. Sigh…

April Goals
1. Get more feedback on COLLAPSE query, maybe even rewrite it again. If I get something I like, I want to send out ten more queries.

2. Forty thousand more words written in MALICE.

3. A-to-Z challenge!!! Wooo! I’m planning on visiting at least ten other A-to-Z-ers every day, in addition to all the people I normally visit who are participating.

I really hope I meet my April Goals. I think I will, although I’m nervous about number 1. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that April remains stress free. Please please please.

What are you guys up to this month?
