It’s Already Started

It feels like we just finished the last one.
Panel 1, I’m at home watching television, and I turn it on, Panel 2, the televisions says, “Today, on News at Five…” Panel 3, it continues, “Our latest coverage on Decision 2024!” Panel 4, looking tired, I say, “Come on, it’s May of 2023.”
I don’t think I can take another year and a half of this.

  1. Election campaigns in a Parliamentary system last four or five weeks.

  2. Not sure how the sitting president can ever get anything done since campaigning for the next election seems to start pretty much as soon as they're sworn in.

  3. OMG, I know. I think the news channels need something to fill time, so they're constantly on and on about the elections. I am so tired of this sh**.

  4. I know it can be quite an overkill. Here it's not too different. Just after a very high-stakes election in one big state (Karnataka), five other states are due to hold elections this year
    - Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Mizoram. And there will be constant speculation as to how the results of these are going to impact the election to the national Parliament due this time next year.
