I came across this
neat dialect quiz on Tumblr. It’s
supposed to pinpoint where you’re from based on certain words you use.
This is mine, and yeah, I have to say, it’s pretty damn
accurate. I guess that’s what happens when you come from the only state that uses
the words “grinder” and “bubbler” to refer to sub sandwiches and water
fountains. But I’m curious to know what it says about you guys. Where does your
dialect say you’re from?
Lucky me - I answered all of the questions and then there was an error with the map...
ReplyDeleteI took this a while back. All of my family scored northern CA, which you would expect since that's where they're from. I did score from the South but not really where I'm from in the South. Actually, I was scattered across almost 1000 miles of possibilities.
ReplyDeleteWhat's funny is that mine showed Michigan and Florida as the most red parts. That's because I was born in Michigan but raised in Florida. haha
ReplyDeleteI have seen this before. The last time I took the quiz it decided I was from the New York Pennsylvania area.
ReplyDeleteIt pegs me at Santa Rosa/San Jose. That's a bit north for me. I'm a SoCal girl, not a NorCal girl.
ReplyDeleteInteresting… I'm from New Zealand and the map shows me as being most likely to be from Hawaiii.
ReplyDeleteI took a different one, and it was really accurate - all Boston stuff. Although it did also say I could be from this random area of Florida, which confused me, until I figured out that everyone who leaves Massachusetts to escape from the winter moves to THAT area of Florida. Weirdly accurate, huh?
ReplyDeleteI got New York and South Florida, and those are the only two places I've ever lived. It did give me some other similar regions, but those were the big two.
ReplyDeleteI got three cities in Texas, including Houston. I'd say that's a dead-on match. :)
ReplyDeleteYonkers, Philadelphia, and Baltimore come up for me.
ReplyDeleteSince I live halfway between Philadelphia and Baltimore, it was pretty accurate!
