Here are my monthly goals, a week late because I did my
A-to-Z reflections post last week. Which you all obviously know. I mean, I
doubt there’s anyone here reading this post who hasn’t read last week’s. Although
I guess my new followers from the Challenge haven’t seen my monthly goal posts
(Ha!) before. I do monthly posts where I list my goals. There. Now you know.
April Goals
1. Write a short story. I actually have an idea for one. Not
sure what will happen with it, but it’s writing.
I did write part of one. I was
still pretty busy, so it’s not done yet. I also did some writing on my horror
WIP. I just wish I had time to do more!
2. Figure out how to fix all the damage. Again, I hate
having to make this a goal, but I have a feeling it’s going to be occupying my
thoughts a lot this month…
For those unaware, there was
some water damage from the horrible winter storms from January to March. They
left some nasty stains on the ceiling! I was able to paint over the damage,
which is good, but one of the door frames is swollen so the front door doesn’t
close properly. I’m not quite sure what to do about that.
3. A-to-Z Challenge! Yay! My posts are all ready, but I have
to be sure to visit new blogs every day, as well as all my usuals. Expect a lot
of late comments from me.
Yep, did this. I wish I could
have visited more : ).
Not bad. Could be better, though.
May Goals
1. Update my site. That includes remembering to update my
Monthly Goal list! I also need to start writing down my goals on a post-it or
something so I see them every day and remember what I need to do.
2. Keep writing my WIP. I don’t know how much I’ll get done
since there’s only one day I really have time to write, and even that’s not
that much. At least four thousand words would be nice.
3. Spring Cleaning! I’m glad it’s finally warm enough to do
it.
Okay, so this is what I’ll be up to this month. What are
your plans for May?
Good goals. Just write when you can and don't stress over word count or beat yourself up if it doesn't get done. I'm learning that. Slowly...
ReplyDeleteI hope the front door at least locks properly. I couldn't sleep at night otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI like when people do goals like this and then list how they did on them. Maybe I should do that. Good that you made your April goals and seems like you have good May goals going too :)

Good luck on meeting your goals, especially the one where you get your door fixed!
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe I don't have my second round of editorial notes for the third book in my series, which comes out next January. But what the delay means is that I've been working on the rough draft of my option book, and I've figured a lot of things out that I didn't know before. (I can't outline. I have to write to discover.) So as hard as the delay on the notes has been for me, it actually means I'll have a better proposal to submit for #4, which hopefully means a better chance they might buy it.
Yay for your 888th post! That is a lot!
ReplyDeleteThat's something I've learned to do with my goals...write them done like a check list so I can see them every day and actually do them.
Good luck with your goals...especially that spring cleaning. ;)
There's not much you can do about the swollen wood other than replace it. Once it's warped, it's warped.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I noticed your goals for January are still up...
ReplyDeleteDon't sweat the writing too much when life gets in the way. You'll get back to it. I know I had a few months where nothing happened on any of my WIPs, and now I'm finally back to it.
Even if progress is slow, it is progress.
ReplyDeleteI did all of my spring cleaning when we moved out of our house. Of course, then I moved into a new house and had to do it all over again.
ReplyDeleteAnd nothing much has happened with my WIP in a while. Adding 4,000 words would be a thing of beauty.
Good luck with your goals!
Good luck with your new goals. I'm spending major hours on outside clean up.
