Posting a day early, of course, because today is the big theme reveal for the Challenge.
Come on. As if you didn’t know what I’m doing.
It’s etymology. Of course it’s etymology. What else would it
be? I love my etymology days because words are so weird and fascinating (ooh,
weird and fascinating will make good words to etymologize), but there are tons
of words that really aren’t long enough to warrant a post of their own. And
while sometimes I’m able to find a reason to post a bunch of them together,
like the prepositions post from last week (and this week) and the post from a
few weeks before when I did synonyms for smart, sometimes I really can’t think
of a good uniting force.
Which is where the Challenge comes in. It’s perfect. One
word a day, short posts, a variety of subjects. And it all begins a week from Wednesday.
So if you’re not doing the Challenge, prepare for some extra
posts, and if you are doing the Challenge, boy, are we going to be busy.
Happy April!
Perfect theme. I revealed today too.
ReplyDeleteThat fits you so well!
ReplyDeleteOoh, words, words are so interesting. I look forward to seeing which words you have chosen for your posts during April.

Yo won't run out of options for letters, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI like this theme! I look forward to reading this! Would love to read about the etymology of some of the weird words in our language!

So, I kind of thought etymology was studying insects or something but apparently it's not (you naturally already knew this). Obviously, I have a lot to learn, and entire month to learn it from you. Bring it on A to Z!
ReplyDeleteThis will be fun. Are you using snow as your S word? Where does snow come from? Couldn't resist.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with it!
ReplyDeleteWho needs a uniting force?
ReplyDeleteSounds very educational :) Looking forward to it!

Etymology rocks! (At least if you're a word geek like me, it does.) Looking forward to your posts!
ReplyDeleteWell, of course you're doing etymology. I shouldn't be surprised. (I'm not. I just hadn't given it much thought.)
ReplyDeleteI love your etymology posts, so I'm excited. I'm A-Zing too, but I've decided to wing it this year and just write about something random each day. Who knows how it will turn out?
ReplyDeleteI love words! As a writer, I can't get enough of them. ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm, The Chinese Quest, is participating in our first #AtoZChallenge. I hope you like Chinese food and will want to come and check us out. The best thing is that an hour later you'll want to come back and read another article!! ;)
Ahahahaha... I misread your theme!
DeleteHow embarrassing!
I had to look up etymology because I wasn't sure what it meant :) Great theme especially if you are a word lover :)
