A Brief Word (Or Two)

First of all, Michael Hayes gave me a Versatile Blogger award last week and I’d like to thank him for thinking of me. He’s a great guy with a cool blog you should go check out.

Yes, I took Tuesday off. I’m feeling a little burnt out and figured, hey, it’s the holidays. Probably a lot of people could use a break.

I really enjoyed Christmas this year. I hope yours was great, too. Mine was soooo much better than Thanksgiving was, probably because there were fewer relatives. And also presents. And food that I’ll be exercising off until well into next year.

Enjoy the rest of the year. I'll be reading as much as I possibly can and as always, lurking around your blogs. But when January 1 rolls in, no more procrastination. It’s time to finish those edits. I’m holding myself to that.

Did you get anything good for Christmas/Hanukkah/whatever? How’s the writing going?

I hope your 2012 is full of a lot of words.

  1. Yeah, I know what you mean. I've been in a funk myself.

I mostly got gift cards for Christmas. I'm more into the giving anyway. I look forward to seeing the reactions when people open the hand knitted items I made for them. I'd be just as happy to sit and watch them and not open a thing myself.

Of course, gift cards to the yarn shop are useful in prepping for next Christmas.

  2. The writing's going well for the first time in a long time. Who knows, I may meet my New Year's self imposed deadline.

    Christmas was hectic and wonderful.

  3. For me, Christmas is no longer a big deal for presents - I don't ever expect to get anything particularly exciting. So I guess it was nice to get a bottle of Bailey's and a $50 gift voucher from mum, a nice pair of earrings and two books (and other stuff I can't remember) from an aunt...and that's all I can think of really. But most important were the messages I got in two cards - one from my mum and one from my cousin's fiancee. They were really meaningful messages that warmed my heart :D

I know what you mean about the food we now need to exercise off...

  4. For me the writing is just finding the time in between so many other things. I'm close to the end. It's in sight. Getting there's the trick.

As to Christmas, I spent it with friends, so I didn't get away. Just as well... I'm on the outs with my sisters, and didn't want my parents in the middle of it.
