Great topic!!!

I'm not an over writer, in fact I keep most of the ideas in my brain and as many thoughts as I can get on paper. I'm one that jumps because the idea is so strong in another chapter!!!Jen Daikerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03667521490706435608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1281469968333860626.post-70432345450787685772010-10-06T15:43:44.150-04:002010-10-06T15:43:44.150-04:00Guilty! I've already got a post lined up on this very subject for tomorrow.
I tend to restate what I've already explained, but in different words. I need to go in and edit strictly for that issue alone. Most of the time we don't even miss those descriptions when we remove them. They do tend to bog the story down. I think we're more or less desribing to ourselves... but the reader only needs a few concise details to get a clear pic.PK Hrezohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11650153097981426833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1281469968333860626.post-91878046808308970512010-10-06T15:25:43.427-04:002010-10-06T15:25:43.427-04:00I am a huge over-writer, guilty of all the types y...I am a huge over-writer, guilty of all the types you mentioned above. I used to write complete chapters that, I discovered later, lead the story nowhere. Now my biggest problem is extra words. I hardly ever see them until my critique partners point them out. Once I do condense a long paragraph into a single sentence or two, I realize I got the same message across, only much better. Twitter helped me learn to write concisely too.Clara Kensiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01739170567096747793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1281469968333860626.post-27219408206466417142010-10-06T15:24:48.171-04:002010-10-06T15:24:48.171-04:00This is the absolute best thing any writer can do ...This is the absolute best thing any writer can do to improve their craft.
